Regional Universities Coordinator
There are four Regional Universities Coordinators - Northern, Eastern, Southern and Western.
Their geographical areas of responsibility are equivalent to those determined by Australian University Sport (AUS).
This role can be filled by a current State Universities Coordinator, but they must expand their role to include out-of-state universities and must avoid any favouritism or conflict of interest.
Roles and responsibilities
- Assist Australian University Sport (AUS) to appoint a Host and Competition Manager for the regional University Championship
- Liaise with regional Australian University Sport (AUS) and University Games/Championship staff
- Attend appropriate AUS functions
- Sit on the National Universities Committee
- Annually develop a regional universities development plan
- Act as a central point of contact for universities in the region
- Ensure that AFDA university initiatives are communicated Australia wide
- Ensure that universities are properly organised and resourced for orientation weeks
- Coordinate the intervarsity competition calendar for the region
- Forward changes in contact details to the National Universities Coordinator
- Take advantage of opportunities to develop new universities or campuses
Reporting
The Regional Universities Coordinators will report directly to the National Universities Coordinator.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience with ultimate frisbee at the university level preferred
- Experience as an administrator in a university ultimate frisbee club preferred
Appointment
Appointed by the AFDA CEO in consultation with the National Universities Coordinator for a term of office at the CEO's discretion.
