Preparing the article

Before submitting an article, you need to write it first. You can write your article in either plain text (.txt) or HTML (.htm or .html).

Text

Probably the easiest way to prepare an article is to simply write it in plain text using an application like Notepad. If you leave a blank line between paragraphs, they will automatically converted into paragraph breaks. Single end-of-lines do not produce a new paragraph.

HTML

An article written in HTML gives you a lot more power to control the look of your article. In its simplest form, just requires paragraph tags <p> to mark the start of new paragraphs.

You can prepare an HTML file by writing it in a word processor like MS Word and saving it in HTML format.

Only the following tags are allowed in the HTML file: <p>, <a>, <h3>, <h4>, <img>, <ul>, <ol>, <li>

Note: There is an error in the code which strips disallowed tags. If you split a tag (eg <img> across lines it will be stripped.

Maximum file size that will be accepted is 50Kb.

Photographs

You can also submit a photogroph to be included with your article. This is worth it as it makes your article a lot more interesting and attractive. Photographs should be in JPEG (.jpg) format, be no more than 300 pixels wide and 400 pixels tall, and no larger than 50KB. Most photo editors and viewers will allow you to crop a photograph and change its size.
